Abby Elin Knueppel began dancing at the age of three at Nancy Dianne Studio of Dance, Ltd. There, she studied and trained in techniques including Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Modern. During her high school years, she assisted instructors through the Student Teaching Apprenticeship Program. Now, Knueppel has completed her fourth year teaching at the studio, fulfilling her desire to pour into the next generation of dancers. She has attended many dance workshops and conventions including Chicago National Association of Dance Masters and Dance Masters of Wisconsin, where she learned from teachers from around the nation. She was also awarded scholarships to return back and apply funds towards a Dance Study of Choice. She was most grateful to achieve the DMW Carol Noll-Dunning Perpetual College Scholarship towards her college degree. She recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Contemporary Dance Performance and Choreography as well as a minor in Business. Throughout her time in college, Knueppel has been able to take part in many works choreographed by students, staff, and guest artists including Alfonso “Fonzy” Cervera, Aysha Upchurch, and Jackie Lopez, aka Miss Funk, which has expanded her dance vocabulary exponentially. She has been in staff-selected works that went on to be performed on regional stages at the American College Dance Association conference, her senior capstone choreography also being chosen for this honor. In 2024, Knueppel performed in her first commissioned dance concert created by Ashley Ray Garcia, titled “For The Wolves.” Her other professional experiences include performing in another Garcia work titled “Little Sparrows” and dancing as a guest for the Danceworks on Tap’s show “Sole Expressions.” Abby looks forward to continuing to grow and apply her knowledge into her work as a teacher at Nancy Dianne Studio of Dance, Ltd.
